The Gardens of Yorkshire – 3 Days / 2 Nights

Nestling on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales is the popular tourist destination of Harrogate - our base for this delightful weekend break.  Harrogate is renowned for its elegant architecture and fabulous shopping opportunities.

Suggested Holiday Hotel:

The Cairn Hotel, Harrogate.  The 3* Cairn Hotel was built during Harrogate’s period as a Spa Town when people came from far and wide to take the waters.  This charming Victorian hotel has been carefully modernised, and still retains some of its grand original features.  The Cairn Hotel is located only a short 5 minute walk from the centre of town.  Features include fitness room, restaurant, bar & lounge.  All en-suite rooms have TV, hair dryer, direct dial telephone, and tea& coffee making facilities.

Suggested Tour Itinerary:

Day 1
Depart during the morning (approx. 08.30 hrs. from Coventry) for the journey north, making a comfort stop en-route to Harewood House near Leeds, where group entrance to the house and gardens are included.  The coach will then depart during the late afternoon for the journey to our hotel - The Cairn Hotel in Harrogate, where accommodation is reserved for two nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2
After breakfast the coach will depart for the journey north to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, where group entrance has been reserved.  As this is a National Trust (NT) property, cared for in partnership with English Heritage (EH), we have not included the cost of the entrance in our overall tour cost.  The additional cost for non NT and EH members is approx. £11.00 per person which must be paid in advance.  For those passengers who are NT or EH members, admission is free of charge as long as you show your membership card upon arrival.    
You will have time at leisure prior to the coach departing for the short journey to Newby Hall & Gardens, where group entrance is included along with a one hour ‘timed’ guided tour of the house.  The coach will depart during the late afternoon for the journey back to the hotel.

Day 3
After breakfast we check out of the hotel.  The coach will then depart for the short journey to RHS Harlow Carr where group entrance has been reserved.  A one hour guided tour arranged by the Friends of Harlow Carr is included, after which you will have time at leisure, prior to the coach departing during the late afternoon for the return journey, arriving during the evening.
