Tall Ships 2018 - Sunderland

Sunderland, the host city of the Tall Ships 2018, come and see the ‘Parade of the Sail’ when the Tall Ships depart the River Wear into the North Sea.

Our base Jury's Inn Newcastle. City Centre location, all en-suite rooms feature flat screen TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and Free Wi-Fi.  

 Here accommodation is reserved for four nights on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. 

Suggested Tour Itinerary:

Day 1
Depart during the morning and make our way to the North of England, making a stop en route at a place of interest of your choice.  During the afternoon  continue to your hotel – Jurys Inn Newcastle Gateshead Quays.

Day 2
After breakfast, the coach will depart for Sunderland, the host city of the Tall Ships 2018. An exciting programme of entertainment and cultural activities will take place with something for everyone to enjoy. The ships will open to allow free public access during set periods, welcoming visitors aboard.  Each day will offer something different, keeping the crowds entertained and ensuring that The Tall Ships Races 2018 in Sunderland remains a cherished memory in the minds of visitors for many years to come.

Day 3
Today visit Durham Botanic Garden where group entrance is included. From here we travel to Hartlepool to continue the nautical theme, with group entrance included to the National Museum of the Royal Navy.  

Day 4
After breakfast, the coach will depart for the Roker, Seaburn area of Sunderland, to hopefully gain a vantage point to see the highlight of the Tall Ships event, the Parade of the Sail.  Return to the hotel during the late afternoon.

Day 5 
Check out of the hotel and set off for our final visit of the tour - Crook Hall & Gardens, where group entrance and a private guided tour of the 13th Century Hall are included. Depart during the 
early/ mid-afternoon for the journey back to your local area.
