Scarborough & East Yorkshire – 5 Days / 4 Nights

As popular now as in its Victorian hey-day, Scarborough was Britain’s first seaside resort.  With its medieval castle, sandy beaches, fishing harbour and lively amusements and attractions, Scarborough has something for everyone.

Our base in Scarborough is the Cumberland Hotel, well situated on the South Cliff a few minutes walk from the beach and town centre.  All en suite rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and TV

Accommodation is reserved for 4 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Suggested Tour Itinerary:

Day 1
Depart during the morning and travel to Eden Camp, a multi-award winning modern history theme museum housed within the grounds of an original World War II prisoner of war camp. After the visit the coach will continue to your hotel, the Cumberland in Scarborough.
 
Day 2
After breakfast the coach will depart for the short journey into Scarborough where you will have the morning at leisure. After lunch we rejoin the coach for an afternoon excursion visiting Filey and Bridlington before returning to the hotel during the late afternoon.

Day 3
Today we have a full day excursion to the city of York, where you will have time to visit the likes of the National Railway Museum (free admission), York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre, the famous The Shambles – York’s famous street lined with timber framed buildings (no admission charges included). Return to the hotel during the late afternoon.

Day 4
This morning we travel to Whitby where you will have the morning at leisure.  During the early afternoon the coach will depart for the North York Moors and the village of Goathland – famed as the fictional village of Aidensfield in the TV series ‘Heartbeat’. From here we continue to Pickering before returning to Scarborough. 

Day 5
After breakfast check out of the hotel and commence our return journey, stopping at the market town of Beverley, with its awe-inspiring Minster, historical buildings, cobbled streets, and small town charm. From here the coach will travel via the impressive Humber Bridge and travel south to the Whisby Garden Centre near Lincoln, where a stop will be made before continuing our journey back to your local area, arriving during the early evening.
