The highly recommended Gilsland Spa Hotel is situated in Hadrian's Wall Country, between Newcastle and Carlisle.  The hotel enjoys a great reputation for good food, as well as being ideally situated to visit beautiful Cumbria and Northumberland.  Accommodation is reserved for four nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.  Each day the hotel put on a Tea Dance at approx. 17.30 hrs. before your evening meal, followed by nightly entertainment.

Suggested Tour Itinerary:

Day 1
Depart during the morning and travel north to Oswaldtwistle Mills, making an appropriate comfort stop en-route.  On arrival you will have time for shopping and lunch (not included) before continuing our journey to our hotel - the Gilsland Spa Hotel.

Day 2
After breakfast we will have a full day visit to County Durham with two options.  Either you can visit ‘Beamish - The Living Museum of the North’, however this must be pre-booked on the booking form at the price of £10.00 per person, and is subject to a minimum of 15 or more people to quality for the group rate.  The coach will drop those off at Beamish before continuing to the Cathedral City of Durham, where the remainder of the group will have time at leisure.  The coach will depart from Durham at approx. 15.00 hrs, returning via Beamish at approx. 15.30 hrs, before continuing back to the hotel.

Day 3
Our excursion today takes us across the border into Scotland, with stops at Gretna Green, Dumfries where you may wish to visit the Robert Burns Centre, before travelling via the Colvend Coast to Castle Douglas.  We return to the hotel during the late afternoon. 

Day 4
After breakfast the coach will depart for Northumberland.  Our first stop will be at Holy Island where the famous causeway is safe to cross from 09.45 hrs.  After time on Holy Island we will return to the main land, with time in Bamburgh and Seahouses before returning to the hotel during the late afternoon.

Day 5
After breakfast we must check out of the hotel and start our return journey, stopping at the Barton Grange Garden Centre, where you will have free time for shopping and lunch (not included).  We then continue our journey back to your local area, arriving during the late afternoon/early evening.
