Suggested Holiday Hotel:

The Ibis Lille Centre Gares - Located at Lille Flandres train station and offers easy access to the main tourist attractions such as the Grand Place, old Lille, Lille Grand Palais and the Palais de Beaux Arts fine art museum.

All guest rooms feature en-suite facilities, LCD flat-screen TV with all the main channels, telephone and hair dryer.  Hotel facilities include a restaurant and bar.


Suggested Tour Itinerary:

Day 1
Depart during the morning and travel south to Folkestone, arriving in time to board a late morning Eurotunnel service to Calais.  From Calais the coach will continue to Lille and our hotel the Ibis Lille Centre Gares, where accommodation is reserved for three nights on a bed & breakfast basis.  A 3-course evening meal is included this evening.

Day 2
After breakfast we have a full day excursion to the French city of Arras, where we have included entrance and a guided tour of The Wellington Quarry (underground tunnels) 20 metres below the pavements of Arras - a site immersed in memory and emotion from WWI.  Afterwards you will have free time to explore this beautiful city.

Day 3
We will depart during the mid morning for the journey to the Belgian city of Ypres.  Upon arrival we have included group entrance to the In Flanders Fields Museum.  Afterwards there will be free time for lunch (not included).  During the afternoon a local guide will join the coach for a 3-hour tour of the North Salient.  The tour includes Essex Farm Cemetery and the restored Dressing Station where John McCrae worked and wrote his famous poem ‘In Flanders Fields’.
Afterwards we visit the frontline and take a look at the Yorkshire Trench and Dug-out - a unique opportunity to stroll through a trench, passing the German Cemetery in Langemark we arrive at the largest British cemetery, 
Tyne Cot in Passschendaele.  We then travel via Zonnebeke and the French Cemetery Saint Charles de Potyze before returning to Ypres.  During the evening you will have time to witness the Last Post which takes place every night at 20.00 hrs. at the Menin Gate.  Afterwards the coach will return to Lille.

Day 4
After breakfast we must check out of the hotel and commence our return journey to Calais, stopping at a place of interest en-route, before we board a mid/late afternoon Eurotunnel service to Folkestone.  From Folkestone the coach will continue back to your local area.
